Lecture 1 「
It is by not thinking that we cease to wonder at it(Nature). Hardened round us, encasing wholly every notion we form, is a wrappage of traditions, hearsays, mere words.
What an enormous camera-obscura magnifier is Tradition! How a thing grows in the human Memory, in the human Imagination, when love, worship and all that lies in the human Heart, is there to encourage it.
The colors and forms of your light will be those of the cut-glass it has to shine through.
Lecture 2 「
Lecture 3 「
シェイクスピアの言葉=“No twisted, poor convex-concave mirror, reflecting all objects with its own convexities and concavities; [but] a perfectly level mirror”。
Consider now, if they asked us, Will you give up your Indian Empire or your Shakspeare, you English; never have had any Indian Empire, or never have had any Shakspeare?
Lecture 4 「
Lecture 5 「
He[man of letter] is the light of the world; the world's Priest;-guiding it, like a sacred Pillar of Fire, in its dark pilgrimage through the waste of Time.
Lecture 6 「
